Please note:
General Information:
Persons must be willing to attend AFSA specific training for expert witnesses at their own cost. Such training may have to be completed before a CV is displayed on the Panel of Expert’s website.
CV’s will be displayed on the AFSA website under the Panel of Expert witnesses or the “Generation Next” Panel.
The “Generation Next” Panel is for individuals who aspire to render expert witness services, but may not have the required experience or expertise to be considered for the main Panel. The intention is to provide “shadow” opportunities for individuals on this Panel.
It should be noted that non-inclusion to this Panel does not preclude any person from rendering expert witness services.
Once eligible, your CV will be displayed for 3 years (or a shorter period, if specific circumstances dictate a shorter period). Re-application after a period of 3 years is permissible.
AFSA will sit annually (in December) to review and consider applications for admission to the Panel of Experts.
The first Panel will be constituted periodically up to December 2024.
It is the intention to provide an opportunity for persons with a wide variety of experience as well as years of experience. The Committee therefore has the right to allow persons onto the list of Panel of Experts at their sole discretion.
The Committee can at its sole discretion add further experts to the database as the Committee deems necessary.
An applicant can withdraw their CV from the database at any time by giving notice to Deline Beukes at deline@cajacjhb.com.
Contracting and fees will be a matter between the Expert and the client, but AFSA will provide guidance in this regard.
