AFSA International Court Welcomes New Members

The Arbitration Foundation of Southern Africa (AFSA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Aisha Abdallah, Diamana Diawara, and Clement Mkiva to the AFSA International Court, further strengthening the Court’s depth of expertise and international standing.

The appointments follow the appointment of Prof. Lise Bosman as President of the AFSA International Court in December 2025, reinforcing AFSA’s commitment to maintaining a world-class institution that reflects the growing importance of Africa in the global dispute resolution landscape.

The newly appointed Court members bring exceptional experience in international arbitration, commercial litigation, mediation, and cross-border dispute resolution. Aisha Abdallah is widely recognised as one of Africa’s leading arbitration practitioners and currently serves in several prominent international arbitration roles. Diamana Diawara, a Partner at Talex International and former Africa Director for Dispute Resolution Services at the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC), is a respected leader in international arbitration and investment disputes. Clement Mkiva, a Partner and Co-Head of Litigation in South Africa at Bowmans, has extensive experience in complex commercial disputes, class actions, and international arbitration.

AFSA is also pleased to announce the extension of Jonathan Lim’s term as a member of the AFSA Court. Jonathan’s continued service ensures the Court retains the benefit of his significant international arbitration expertise and his valuable contribution to the development of AFSA’s dispute resolution services.

Together, these appointments reflect AFSA’s ongoing commitment to maintaining a diverse, highly skilled, and internationally respected Court that supports excellence in arbitration and alternative dispute resolution across Africa and beyond.
